Since my unforgettable trip is now over, it's time to make videos, a Shutterfly book, and get pictures printed! Below is the London video and the UCD Summer Program video I made on Animoto!

The Last Week :(
On
Monday, there was a bank holiday, so many stores were closed. I woke up at
9:30am, showered, cooked, and ate. Then I met up with Cassie, Kayla, and Sam to
go downtown to get the Dart to Howth, a small island about a half hour from
Dublin. We took the 1:40pm Dart, and when we got to Howth, we walked around the
market and then began our hike around the island. We walked over an hour and a
half, and when we realized there was still over an hour left, we cut up to the
road and took the Dublin bus back to the start of our hike. Then we ate dinner
at O'Connell's, and I had chowder and a chicken and bacon sandwich. After
dinner, we took the Dart back to Dublin and a bus back to campus. We got back
to campus at 8:30pm, and then I relaxed and went to bed.
On Tuesday, I woke up at 9am and went to my business
analytics class from 10am-1pm, but we got out 45 minutes early. Then we had a
lunch break until 2pm when we had our internship class for two hours. Then we
got ready for our farewell dinner and got a uber to the Overends Restaurant in
the Airfield Estate. We got there at 5:20pm, and I had a salad, chicken with
mashed potatoes, and a Belgian chocolate brownie for dessert. The dinner ended
at 8pm, and then we walked about an hour back to campus. When we got back to
campus, I took a shower, started packing my suitcase to go home, and went to
bed.
On Wednesday, I woke up at 9:20am and then went to class at 10am. We had our laid back presentations where we watched other student's internship videos. It was interesting to see everyone's experiences with their companies. There was free tea and coffee, and we had a half hour of class to conclude our program. Then we got our 20 euro deposits back from the cultural trips, and I went back to my apartment to eat lunch at 12:45pm. Afterwards, I took a nap, and Cassie, Sam, Kayla, and I met up at 4:30pm to go into town to eat dinner, get Murphy's Ice Cream, and shop for souvenirs. Since we haven't had Italian food for the past eight weeks, we wanted to try an Italian restaurant in Dublin and ended up eating Ciao Bella Roma. It was really good, and we got a deal because it was before 6pm. We got a starter and entree for 12.50 euros. I got bruchetta and spaghetti carbonara for dinner. Then we went to Murphy's Ice Cream where I got a scoop of chocolate and and a scoop of cookies. After we were finished, we went to the Temple Bar gift shop where I got three Aran scarves, and then we stopped in Starbucks where I bought a Dublin mug. Our last store was Carroll's, and I bought two t-shirts. Then we took the bus back to campus, I figured out what train Sam and I were taking to Galway tomorrow and then went to bed.
On Thursday, I woke up at 8am and showered. I met up with Sam, Cassie, and Kayla at 9:30am to take a picture by the UCD sign, and then Sam and I got a bus to Heuston Station to get a train to Galway. We caught the 11:25am train, and we got to Galway at 1:45pm. When Sam and I arrived, we went to the tourist office and then got a map and some brochures. We started off heading to Lynch's Castle, which is now an AIB. Then we had a late lunch at the Pie Maker, which all of my friends recommended. I had a beef pie with mashed potatoes and peas. Then we saw the Spanish Arch, did the Long Walk, saw the Claddagh Ring Museum, and the Galway City Museum. Afterwards, we went to the Tigh Fox Trad House, a traditional Irish music pub because they had live Irish music at 5:30pm. We stayed there until our train at 7:20pm since it was right next to the station, and I got an Orchard Thieves. We got back to Dublin around 9:45pm and then got a bus back to campus. Then I relaxed and went to bed.
On Friday, I slept in and packed just about everything in my suitcase. Then I showered and spent the last of my money on my UCard at Centra on a bag of chips and apple juice. I can't believe I'm leaving tomorrow. At 3:30pm, I met up with Sam and took the bus into town one last time. We stopped into Carroll's where I got a small decorative plate with an Irish blessing on it. Then we went to the Temple Bar gift shop and Penney's. After that, we met Kayla and Cassie at Coco Bo, and I got a mini oreo milkshake. Afterwards, we walked to the Brazen Head and met up with Fran. We scouted out a table, and after 10 minutes, Kayla got one in the bar room. For dinner, Fran and I split wings, and I got beef and Guinness stew. We took a final picture and walked through the Temple Bar and down Grafton Street one last time before taking the bus home. When I got home, I was very tired so I went to bed
On Saturday, I woke up early because I couldn't sleep in, and I met up with Sam at 7:45am to help her to the bus stop because she had a lot of bags. Then I took a shower and completely packed my bags to leave. I got the 10:30am Aircoach to the Dublin Airport and got to the airport at 11:30am. Then I checked in, and my bag weighed 21.1kg or 46.5lbs. Afterwards, I went through security in 20 minutes and went to the tax free refund desk where they told me the refund will be on my card within four weeks. Then I bought a sandwich and a bag of chips for lunch, ate, and waited because I had about two hours until my flight departed at 2:40pm, and the gate wasn't going to be shown until 1:50pm. I got a window seat on the plane, and it was a short flight. When I arrived in London Heathrow Terminal 2, the Queen's Terminal, I was directed to the security for transfer flights and then to the United Airlines check-in desk where they gave me a new boarding pass. Then I was told to go to gate B31, which was very far from the check in desk. Shortly after I got there, I was told that the gate was changed to B47, so I waited there for about a half hour before boarding began. This was a much bigger plane than the Aer Lingus I was just on and United Airlines plane I took to Glasgow. The plane ride was 8 hours long, and I had an aisle seat. I watched Once and then Crazy Stupid Love. I had apple juice and a little bag of snacks. For dinner, I had chicken, spinach, and bread and butter, and for dessert, I had strawberry ice cream. Then I listened to music and took a nap. They woke us up about an hour and a half before we landed, and I filled out the US Border Protection card declaring what I was bringing into the country. Afterwards, they gave us each a warm turkey and cheese sandwich on a pretzel roll and a drink for what was supposed to be dinner, but it felt like 12:45am. I still ate it, and it was really good. We landed at 8:40pm, 25 minutes early but then waited to approach a gate. When we got off, we had to go through customs in the US, which took about 15-20 minutes. Then I got my luggage, which was one of last ones, met my mom at the arrival area, and waited for my dad and sister to pick us up. It was about an hour and 15 minute drive home, and I finally got home at 11:30pm, completely exhausted because it was 4:30am in Dublin. It was a very long day of travelling and a long day in general, 29 hours for me, but I'm glad to be home!

London!
On Thursday, Fran, Cassie, Kayla and I met up at 6:30pm and walked to the bus stop for the Aircoach bus to take us to the airport. We didn't wait long and the bus ride was about 45 minutes to an hour. We got our boarding passes stamped and through security very quickly and then had two hours until our flight departed, so we went to Burger King where Fran got dinner. Then we went to our gate, 103 and waited 45 minutes to board. Cassie and I sat next to each other on the plane, and it was a very short flight from 10pm to 11:15pm. When we landed, we didn't even need to go through customs since we were arriving from the EU. We headed to the National Express counter to buy bus tickets to Paddington Station, which was a close walk to out hotel. The round-trip bus was only £18 compared to a taxi which would have been about £100 since we were about an hour outside the city. We were on the bus from 12am to 1:20am and then walked to the Garden Court Hotel. We checked in, and our room was nice with a double bed and two twin beds. We fell asleep around 2am.
On Friday, I woke up around 6:45am to shower after Cassie. Then I planned out the day on the map and figured what line to take for the Underground. We all went to the free breakfast downstairs at 8:15am, and there was cereals, yogurt, toast, juice, and coffee. I had a bowl of cereal with milk, a piece of toast, and apple juice. Then we walked to Abbey Road to recreate the Beatles Abbey Road album cover. Afterwards, we took the Underground from Paddington to King's Cross train station, so we could get a picture at Platform 9 3/4 from Harry Potter. We walked in line for about an hour, but it was worth it. After the pictures, we took the Underground to St. Paul's Cathedral and got lunch at EAT, where I got a bowl of chicken pot pie, apple juice, and a bag of chips. Then we went to St. Paul's Cathedral and listened to an audio guide throughout it. We weren't allowed to take any pictures. We also walked up a ton of stairs to the Whispering Gallery and up more stairs to the Stone Gallery and up more stairs to the Golden Gallery, which was the top of the dome. The view was amazing! After we walked down all the stairs, we went down to the crypts and then walked to Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and over the Millennium Bridge that was in a Harry Potter movie. Then we took the Underground to the Westminster stop and went to dinner at the Ale & Pie where I got a steak and London pride pie with cabbage and mashed potatoes and gravy. Then we relaxed and went on the London Eye right at sunset, so we could get pictures of Big Ben at sunset and when it was lit up. After Big Ben, we went to get dessert at Cafe Concerto, and I got ice cream. Then we took the Underground back to our hotel, got back at 11:45pm, and went to bed because we were exhausted.
On Saturday, I woke up and took at 6:30am. Then we ate a quick breakfast and took the Underground to Victoria Station to get the bus to Stonehenge and Fran got a bus to Oxford to visit his cousin. We bus departed by 8:30am, and it was about a two-hour bus ride. When we got there, we got audio guides and took a shuttle about a mile and a half to the Stonehenge. We had two hours there, so we walked around it, took lots of pictures, and listened to the audio guide. Then we took the shuttle back, spent some time in the gift shop, and got back on the bus. We got back to London at 2:30pm and then took the Underground to Camden town where we ate at La Patagonia, an Argentinian restaurant where I got Milanesa Clasica, breaded steak, salad, and fries. Then we went to the Camden Street Market where there was various clothes and souvenirs for sale. Then we took the Underground to Piccadilly Circus, walked around SOHO and Chinatown, and got bubble tea at Cuppacha. Afterwards, we took the Underground to the London Bridge, took pictures, relaxed on the pier until sunset and took more pictures. Then we took the Underground to Piccadilly where we got dessert at Jamie Oliver's Diner. I got a small side dish of mac & cheese and a slice of pecan pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert. When we were finished, we took the Underground back to our hotel, got back around 12:30am, and then I went to bed because I had another exhausting day.
On Sunday, we woke up at 7:30am, and I took a shower. Then we checked out and went to breakfast by our hotel at CC Bakery Patisserie & Brasserie where I got a bagel with ham and cheese, a chocolate croissant, and water. Then we took the Underground to Hyde Park and walked through it until 11am when we headed to Buckingham Palace. There was a huge bike race, so there were a ton of people. When we got there, we got our tickets, went through security, checked our bags, and got an audio guide. We started with the entrance and grand staircase and then went through many rooms of Queen Elizabeth's many outfits she wore to jubilees and other major events such as her wedding dress. Then we went through the various state rooms of the palace, and after we were finished, we went to the cafe where I got chocolate ice cream. Then we went to the gift shop, and I got a magnet. Afterwards, we took the Underground to Harrods, a huge high end department store with five floors of stores, restaurants, etc. After walking around for a little, we went to The Bunch of Grapes pub for dinner, and I got fish & chips, an Aspall Suffolk Cider, and a brownie with mint chocolate ice cream for dessert. After we were done eating, we stopped at a gift shop, and I got a couple souvenirs. Then we got the Underground to our National Express bus that took us back to the airport. The ride took about two hours. When we got there, we got our boarding tickets stamped, went through security, and then went to Joe & the Juice to get fresh juice, and I got a pick me up, which had raspberries, bananas, and apples in it. We relaxed there for about an hour because we didn't know about gate number yet, and there were outlets to charge our phones. We got an hour of free airport wifi as well. Our gate was announced at 9:20pm, so we headed to gate 44 right away and waited in line. We started boarding soon after, and Cassie and I were three rows from the back. I had an aisle seat this time and listened to music during the flight. It landed 15 minutes early, and the Aircoach arrived just as we got to the stop. We got back to UCD at 12:20am. It was an amazing trip to London I'll never forget!

Internship Week 6
On Monday, I woke up at 7:25am and got the 8am bus. I continued working on the analytics project in the morning and then went to lunch at 12:45pm. I spent the afternoon working on the project too, and my computer was slow because of the large Excel file. I got home at 6pm, ate dinner, relaxed because my stomach hurt, and went to bed early.
On Tuesday, I woke up at 8am, showered, and got the 9am bus to the Bank of Ireland Burlington Plaza branch for a tour at 9:30am-11am. Then we walked to Spar, and I got a Naked juice. We waited in the lobby until 12pm, and then they told us the presentation was moved to the Mespil branch a block away so we all walked over there. We waited until 12:30pm when they finally came out and told us there were technical difficulties, so they would have to reschedule. Then we walked to our branch and went to lunch. I got back to my desk at 2pm. I continued working on my project until I left for the day, and once I got back to my apartment, I cooked dinner at Kayla's apartment, and then we worked on our final business analytics project from 7:30-11:30pm. I'm so glad we finished it in one night because we are officially done all of our projects for UCD. Afterwards, I went back to my apartment and went to bed.

I got home at 5:20pm, showered, ate dinner, and then talked to Fran, Cassie, Kayla, and Sam about London and when we were leaving. Afterwards, I packed for London and went to bed.
On Thursday, I woke up at 7:20am, got the 7:50am bus, and ate breakfast at work. It was sad realizing it was the last day at the Bank of Ireland. I finished up my project and gave my manager, Aisling, a box of chocolates as a thank you gift for all her hard work in ensuring I got what I wanted out of the internship. She gave Ariana and I each a bag with a tin of chocolate sheep, a magnet, and a thank you card for all of our hard work on all the different projects. As we left, we turned in our IDs at the security desk and then took the bus home. The internship went by fast, and I enjoyed my time there. When I got home, I packed the last few things for London, changed, ate dinner, and met up with Fran, Kayla, and Cassie at 6:30pm to catch the Aircoach bus to the Dublin airport.

I finished up my project and gave my manager, Aisling, a box of chocolates as a thank you gift for all her hard work in ensuring I got what I wanted out of the internship. She gave Ariana and I each a bag with a tin of chocolate sheep, a magnet, and a thank you card for all of our hard work on all the different projects. As we left, we turned in our IDs at the security desk and then took the bus home. The internship went by fast, and I enjoyed my time there. When I got home, I packed the last few things for London, changed, ate dinner, and met up with Fran, Kayla, and Cassie at 6:30pm to catch the Aircoach bus to the Dublin airport.

My Sixth Weekend
On Saturday, I slept in until 11am, relaxed, ate lunch, and then worked on my internship video project. Then I headed into town to meet Erin. We got dinner and drinks at O'Donaghues, and I got stew and an Orchard Thieves. Afterwards, we met Fran, Cassie, Nick, and Kayla at the Porterhouse and walked to The Palace bar in Temple Bar, which had a lot of whiskey. I got a Jameson and cranberry juice, and then we walked to the Hairy Lemon, another bar. Cassie and Nick got food next door, and I had some of her Orchard Thieves. Then we walked to Cassidy's bar, but there wasn't live music, so we went next door to the Bleeding Horse, where I got another Orchard Thieves. When we finished our drinks, we took a taxi home. When I got home, I finished my video and went to bed.
On Sunday, I woke up at 7am, showered, and met Fran and Kayla. We got a taxi to Paddy Palace where we were getting the tour bus to Belfast and the Titanic museum. The bus ride was about two hours long. The Titanic museum was amazing, we saw the shipyard where the Titanic was built. The museum itself had nine different sections to go through from the history of Belfast and inception of the Titanic to the sinking and aftermath. It also had a 5-minute ride that described the building of the Titanic. We had two hours in the museum, and then we headed in Belfast city where we went to get a late lunch at Flame. I got a bacon cheeseburger with fries and a brownie with vanilla ice cream. Then we walked around Belfast city hall and got back on the bus. On the way back to Dublin, we stopped at Monasterboice for 15 minutes. We got back to Dublin at around 7:15pm and then headed back to UCD. Then Fran, Kayla, Cassie, and I booked a bunch of tours for London, and then I went to bed by 11pm because I was exhausted.

Glendalough and the Russborough House
On Friday, I woke up at 7am, got dressed, and packed my backpack with water and snacks for Glendalough. "Glendalough (/ˌɡlɛndəˈlɒx/; Irish: Gleann Dá Loch, meaning "Valley of two lakes") is a glacial valley in County Wicklow, Ireland, renowned for an Early Medieval monastic settlement founded in the 6th century by St Kevin." We met at the bus stop at 8:15am and left at 8:30am. It was only 45 minutes away. so we got there by 9:30am. Only about 40 people went on this trip. There were two options for us, a strenuous hike or a lakeside walk and only 8 people did the lakeside walk. I chose the hike as I've never gone a real hike up a mountain. It was definitely strenuous getting up the mountain with 600 wooden plank stairs. We basically walked up at least ten flights of stairs to get to the first landing, and I immediately sat down under a tree when we finally made it. The views were absolutely beautiful once we got to the first landing seeing the lower lake. Then we continued up the mountain and stopped to see the upper lake. We took a different much more relaxed path down the mountain, and then stopped to see some deer and the monastery founded by St. Kevin. After our three-hour adventure in Glendalough, we took the bus to the Russborough House where we had burgers and sausages for lunch, and then we went on a tour of the house, which was beautiful. After the tour was over, we watched sheep dog herding with two border collies. Then six of us (not me) ran around the field trying to herd the sheep in a pen, which was pretty amusing. At around 4:30pm, we got back on the bus to go back to UCD. Once we got back, I showered, changed, and took the bus downtown to The Church Bar and Restaurant to meet Erin. We had drinks, and I ordered a small appetizer of nachos and a Kopparberg Mixed Berry. Nick, Fran, Dean, and VIcki showed up, so we found them, talked, and everyone ended up getting a Kopparberg as well because it tasted so good. At 11pm, Dean and Vicki left to take the bus back, and the rest of us walked to the The Workman's Club. We just had one drink before getting a taxi home, I got an Orchard Thieves, and we got back at around 12:30am.
